When I was first introduced to Birth Art I thought that it wouldn't be for me and wondered how it could possibly help in my pregnancy and birth. Well, I was wrong. Birth Art helped me to explore myself and the feelings that come with pregnancy. Not only did it do that for me but for my husband as well.

Doing this kind of project opened a door of communication between my husband and myself that we probably wouldn't have had otherwise.

With our second child we did a belly cast and we can't wait to do another one with our third child and see how my belly differed from each birth.

My name is Sarai. I moved to Colorado from a small town in Montana. When I moved here I was newly married. We were trying to have our second child and knew that I needed to find an OBGyn. I was so overwhelmed when I looked on-line to search; there were so many that I wasn't sure how to find one that I trusted. After that I procrastinated. About 7 months later I became pregnant and absolutely needed to find someone for my care. I decided to look on-line and Midwives came up. I searched for a midwife in the area where we were living and found a small number and knew that was the way to go. It was much easier to decide. I picked a midwife that looked like someone that I would get along with. So I called her to see about an appointment. My husband was nervous about the whole experience and wasn't sure that was the way he wanted to go. I called the midwife to see about an appointment. Shortly after we had an appointment, there was a conflict so she referred us to Dana Savage. Our first visit with Dana was so awesome; Dana made us feel so comfortable. My husband had every worst case scenario question and she answered every question with such confidence; he was so reassured and really excited about our home birth. Our care was awesome; everything was great. We had a healthy baby boy at home and everything went so well. We have since had a beautiful baby girl at home. Dana is a great midwife, coach, friend and nurturer. My husband and I have had a wonderful experience and would do it all over again.
